NP® SiOPack® is a product developed by Nanopool GmbH, a German technology company specialising
in water-based SiO₂ ultra-thin-layer coating systems.

For more than 20 years, Nanopool has been developing functional surface coating solutions
that provide long-lasting protection while maintaining environmental compatibility.
With NP® SiOPack® , the company has created a scalable, plastic-free barrier coating for paper-based packaging, protecting against moisture, grease and microorganisms – while remaining fully recyclable within standard paper recycling streams.

Headquartered in Hülzweiler, Saarland (Germany), Nanopool GmbH develops and manufactures inorganic SiO₂ coatings for industrial applications.

The core focus lies in designing functional surfaces that enhance durability, hygiene and material performance across multiple industries.

Research & development

Research and application are done in Nanopool’s in-house technology and development laboratory. Here, new coating formulations are developed, validated and scaled in close collaboration with industrial partners.

NP® SiOPack® - Product line for sustainable barrier coatings

With NP® SiOPack® Nanopool GmbH has developed a water-based SiO₂ ultr-thin-layer technology specifically engineered for paper-based packaging materials. The coating forms an ultra-thin (5-100 nm), glass-like protective layer that protects paper, carton and moulded fibre products against moisture, grease and microorganisms - without compromising recyclability within the paper stream.
